If you’re interested in getting into music production, or are already an Ableton Live user, please come along for this free set of workshops! Learn about the new Ableton 10 features from an Ableton Certified Trainer, and try it out for yourself in our purpose-built teaching facilities, under supervision from our SEM music production tutors.

Electronic Music Symposium : An Evening of Talk and Tech

JUST ANNOUNCED: Ben Pearce joins us at Liverpool Sound City 2016!

This year we will be returning to Liverpool Sound City to host a whole day of DJing and Music Production workshops. Including a special remixing workshop with Ben Pearce!


When and Where is it Happening?

Friday 27th May 2016 10-4pm at the Titanic Hotel, Liverpool.

The Sessions

Throughout the day our DJ Tutor Mark One will be hosting free DJing workshops. Spaces are limited so please come down to register from 10am. From 1pm – 2.30pm, Ben Pearce will be remixing a track live. Our Ableton certified Tutor Tom Lonsborough will be demonstrating using Ableton Live with a live band set up from 3pm.

MMS Guest Lecture : Deep House Producer Marco Darko [Hot Waves]

Marco has been making big ripples as a deep house producer, with releases on labels like Jamie Jones’ Hot Waves, Street King NYC, Kaluki, Love Not Money, NastyFunk, Get Twisted, Armada and many more. Off the back of his success he’s been touring the globe DJing, and been supported on various radio stations such as Ministry Of Sound Radio, Kiss FM, Rinse FM, and Capital Xtra.


Deep House producer Marco Darko 

will be guest lecturing on Thursday, 4th September from 12 – 2pm

– chatting  about his journey through music, imparting advice on everything from production, to remixing, to label etiquette, to getting the work-life balance right.
