Learning to DJ is an investment in yourself, arming you with an extremely fun skill that will allow you to engage with music in a way you’ve never done before. The benefit of private DJ training is that it can be completely tailored to your ability, and your availability.
Our world-class tutors will be able to cover any areas you may want to – whether you have a clear idea of what you’d like to learn, or if you’re open to following a carefully planned curriculum to ensure you’ve got all the bases covered.
We regularly teach complete beginners, right up to experienced DJs looking to improve certain areas such as updating their knowledge of new DJ equipment, or learning a new skill like scratching.
If you’ve already bought some DJ kit but aren’t getting the most from it, we’re happy to teach you on your own setup if you’d like to bring it in for lessons. Or you’re welcome to use our high-end festival-ready setups of course!
At SEM we also understand that you’ll learn better if you’re having fun. For this reason we’ve made it easy and affordable to train with a friend. They can study for half price, and double both of your studio access in the process.

Once you have enrolled, a course administrator will call you to arrange the lessons.
When can I train?
Our provision for one-to-one training depends on our tutor availability and at busy times there may be a wait before you can start training.
Prior to enrolling, we strongly recommend you book a call with a course advisor to discuss availability.
We can also discuss your current level of experience and if there are any specific areas you want to focus on in your training. From the information you give us, we can match the best tutor for your needs.
Do I need any equipment to train?
Absolutely not. If anything, we would recommend training with us first on a range of DJ platforms, before buying any DJ gear. This way you can get a feel for what you work best on.
If you’re thinking it will cost a lot of money to get a DJ setup at home, think again. There are some great DJ controllers for around £100.
Book a call with a course advisor so we can discuss what you’re looking to achieve. We can help advise on what you’ll need to get going.
