Introduction
This specialist DJ course covers all aspects of DJ scratching and turntablism, embracing the cutting edge use of DJ technology. The beauty of this course is that you choose what specific areas and techniques you would like to focus on, who you would like to stylistically emulate.
The tricks of the trade such as the ‘Flair’ and the ‘Crab’ are broken down into simple steps, clearly explained and demonstrated by our professional. In addition you will pick up the essential new technical knowledge needed as DJ scratching ‘goes digital’ with Serato Scratch Live.
The Scratch Lab is taught on a one-to-one basis, due to the intricate nature of these DJ skills. You will be given the opportunity to gain key DJ scratching and turntablism techniques, at your level, from beginner to pro standard.
Training can be provided on weekdays, weekends or evenings – starting from as little as 4 hours of training up to a full programme of 20 hours. If you’ve made the investment in equipment, invest in getting the most from it.
Meet your Tutor
DJ Rasp is a DMC champion and is endorsed by equipment manufacturers Numark, Vestax & Pro-X-Fade, providing showcases at trade shows such as BPM & Gadget Show. He has also featured his scratching skills on a number albums & singles for various recording artists.
Rasp is also the touring DJ for a number of hip-hop crews including G&G Sindikatas (Lithuania), The Shakti, The Punning Clan, Random Era as well as the 12-piece funk band The Elementals.
