Students have access to our fully-equipped top end studios, which are kitted out with cutting-edge industry standard software and hardware, including mixing desks such as “SSL”, the latest controllers, processing units, a variety of vintage synths and club-standard DJ gear.
SEM is located in Bexley Chambers, a thriving city centre music complex housing a multitude of industry professionals. We are also just a stone’s throw from Media:City, home to 1,150 creative and related businesses, 1,500 trainee posts per year and employment opportunities for 15,500 people.
SEM has established connections with current artists, labels and studios worldwide. We regularly run free masterclasses where successful industry moguls impart advice on how to make it happen in their chosen field. We also have a strong partnership swith Islington Mill where Audio Engineering students can gain work experience, and a variety of Manchester bar’s and clubs, where DJs can play gigs.
On top of developing invaluable music production and audio engineering skills, students will procure many transferrable skills including I.T. and Mac knowledge, teamwork and communication skills, organisational skills, deadline management, and problem-solving skills.
As long as we think you will be able to keep up with the teaching, we do not have a maximum age limit. 1-2-1s have no lower age limit, and for classes in groups the lower age limit begins sometimes as low as 16.
