On Thursday evening 28th March, SEM is giving you the opportunity to attend a Minimoog masterclass hosted by Paul Birchall.
Paul has a notable musical pedigree consisting not only of his own projects but also collaborations with other distinguished practitioners including Marshall Jefferson, Jim Diamond, Candi Statton, K Klass, Snake Davis, Graeme Park, DJ Sneak, Martin Fry, Felix Da Housecat, Wang Chung, Cutting Crew, M People and Heather Small.
The event will showcase the iconic Minimoog Model D and demonstrate what it can do whilst Paul will also preview excerpts from his new album inspired by the Synthesizer that has shaped electronic music since its release in 1970.
Seminal musician Graham Massey (808 State, Bjork, Biting Tongues) recently described Paul playing the Minimoog as being ‘Like watching James Bond throwing an Aston Martin around’ so the event is not to be missed.
With his album ‘Conversing with the Minimoog’ due for release on April 1st, this is a one off opportunity to speak with this respected musician and witness him perform live in an intimate venue.
‘Conversing with the Minimoog’ is influenced by Paul’s personal relationship with the Model D and he can be heard tipping his hat to past explorers of the technology but also uncovers new ground on which future Moogers will no doubt tread.
‘Conversing with the Minimoog’ is a must for electronic music enthusiasts and lovers of virtuosity and musical adventure and will be available on all major digital music platforms and on special limited edition cassette.
