Originally from a Chinese and Vietnamese background, DJ Hongee was born and raised in Manchester and whilst he started his career with a passion to become a hip hop and RnB DJ, he’s since gravitated towards open format performances. DJ EZ tops his list of influences so expect a good mix of genres when he performs at SFTOC. DJ Hongee’s love and passion for music started when he was just 16 and his future goals are to be an international touring DJ.

He discovered the joy of electronic of music with the age of 15 and has since experimented with different software and gear. He has performed his music live in various interdisciplinary art spaces. His music explores and subverts musical structures and ranges from field recordings, distorted sounds to harmonic melodies and large beats.
After diving into the Psytrance scene in the Netherlands, Gimi aka Somnia became interested in electronic music production and DJing. He later studied electronic music production and took DJ lessons from DJ Mark One at SEM during his stay in the UK. Now based in Barcelona, he’s getting involved with music and media audio production and DJing at local events. This will be his first official gig in the UK, a second home to him.

Considered as ones to watch, these exciting young duo artists with natural talent and dedication towards electronic music have resulted in the Manchester duo heading for success. After dj’ing & Producing together for the past 4 years they have formed a formidable sound which is shown in their music. 2017 has set them on a new venture building their own record label (Nonchalant Records) and becoming Boxed: Music residents.
E11e is an artist and Producer/DJ based in Manchester. A lover of shoegaze and the psychedelic her vocals and lyrics have a dream-like quality and her productions and projects evoke the ethereal and uplifting, blending house beats with sparse evocative instrumentation. Her vocals have lead her to collaborate with a number of electronic music producers including French/Berliner producer and modular wizard S L F (Stephane LeFrancois) and Egyptian house producer Bazaar (aka Tariq Ibrahim). Her vocals are featured on 3 upcoming tracks with dnb producer Dimension and a solo EP of her own productions is due in 2018 under her moniker ‘She Gaze’. Expect a blend of live and electronic.
Wigan based DJ Notchyy hails from the Lake District but moved to the North West 2 years ago where has has since played an active role in SEM’s DJing lineup. Notchyy recently made his live debut at the SEM launch party where he pleased the crowds with an eclectic mix of melodic progressive house. He’s been Djing for over 6 years and his influences include Yotto, Dusky, Lane 8 and Above and Beyond.
Faded Gold is the music of solo artist Stefanie Chew, an electronic experimental performer from Liverpool UK. Crafting her songs from her love of post rock and electronic music, the resulting output is an eclectic mix influenced by artists such as Julianna Barwick, Nils Frahm and M83 to name a few. Her music has been given airtime by BBC, and had support from the likes of Nils Frahm.
Devastia is a young aspiring DJ and producer on a mission to make people feel special. She started studying music at the age of 22 and it was then she realised this new way of life. She performs with the belief that music can change lives and open minds. Her music is inspired by the greatest techno artists and she performs heavy music with a strong underground vibe.
Making music together in various guises since 1998, the duo of vwls merge artful post-rock and beat-centric electronica with an experimental pop sensibility. Live performances involve band-oriented instrumentation (guitar, bass, drums, vocals) mixed with two Maschine and Ableton Live setups along with other electronic toys that are sequenced and played live.
Newly formed duo Don’t Be Cruel bonded over their love of Bobby Brown songs. After meeting at a Lady Gaga gig they realised their shared passion for making people dance and progressed to the studio to make their very first mix. They’ve since honed their skills in the lab and the result is a tantalizing mix of strip club anthems and sexy bangers.
Lynch are a 3 piece electro-pop band hailing from Manchester via London. Dieter Lynch (the bloody southerner) fronts the band on guitar and vocals; Ste Graham (deeply northern) provides backing vocals, theremin solos, kaoss, samples and vocal fx; Tom Lonsborough (also very northern) provides beats, bass, synths and keys. Depeche Mode meets LCD at a party hosted by INXS and Talking Heads – expect big beats and bass alongside proper, simple songwriting.

After exploding onto the Manchester drag scene in 2015 with a series of legendary lipsyncs at Cha Cha Boudoir and beyond, Monopoly Phonic released their first EP of self-produced music in November 2016: the electropop rap whirlwind “Next Time You’re At The Checkout And You Hear The Beep”.
