Sounds From The Other City is back and once again we’re giving you the opportunity to get involved.
The 14th edition of the Salford based festival will take over the city on Sunday May 6th and this years festival promises to be bigger than ever. New additions Band on the Wall, Strange Days and Invisible Wind Factory will host alongside the usual firm favourites and we’re excited to announce that this year SEM will be managing two live performance stages.
Volunteering
Volunteering for SEM is a great way to gain experience working at one of the best festivals in Manchester. We have plenty of opportunities for anyone interested in helping out with live sound, artist liaison, crowd management and event organisation. If you’re passionate about events and live music, this is a great way to gain valuable experience that looks great on your CV.
Closing date for volunteer applications is January 31st so be quick!
Contact us with your name, telephone number and a brief message stating what you want to help with at the festival. Experience is not necessary however, if you’ve previously volunteered at a festival it would be useful to mention it in your email.
Performing
This year we’re going the extra mile for SFTOC and our brand new student social space will be transformed into a live performance venue hosting a lineup of innovative artists. Whether you’re a performer, an instrumentalist or a creative artist with an exciting visual concept, we want to hear from you!
Contact us with your name, telephone number, a brief description of what your stage performance and any links to music, videos or photographs of past performances. Experience onstage is not necessary and we welcome first time performers.
DJ Tent
Bexley Square will once again host the SEM DJ tent and we’re on the hunt for fresh talent to take part. Whether you’re new to the decks or SEM alumni, if you’re interested in performing, then get in touch! This is your opportunity to perform in SEM’s bustling DJ tent at the centre of the action.
