The biggest brands in music technology will unite in California this week to attend the 2018 NAMM Show, a platform used to showcase the most exciting new music products on the market. Amongst the best releases at NAMM 2018, we’ll see products from Korg, Moog, Native Instruments and Novation as well as 7,000 worldwide brands that will be on hand to showcase the latest cutting edge equipment on offer. Moog Releases Drummer From Another Mother

Drummer from Another Mother is the latest release from Moog, an analog percussion synthesizer that boasts a selection of exciting features. Whilst DFAM is essentially a drum machine, it’s unique in the way it features a selection of synthetic drum and percussion sounds. The DFAM differs from most machines as it’s monophonic which therefore only allows you to play one sound at a time. It does however, feature a modular patchbay will give you access to a diverse bank of sounds that veer from your typical drum kit essentials. With no patching necessary, the DFAM can be used with no prior experience and it’s a great tool for beginners. Those interested in expanding an existing setup will also be pleased to hear that the DFAM’s 24-point modular patchbay allows you to easily integrate the Drummer from Another Mother into an existing synth rig.

Universal Audio Releases New Audio Interface, Arrow

Universal Audio releases Arrow this week, a new portable 2×4 bus-powered Thunderbolt 3 audio interface which is set to change the way you record at home. The new interface gives users access to two analog inputs and two analog outputs, one instrument input and a stereo headphone output. Its small compact build makes it great for recording on the go and users will be pleased to find that the Arrow is bus powered. A nice feature of the Arrow is its full library of UAD plugins and studio mixing tools which features the UAD Realtime analog classics bundle, a collection of 14 outstanding plug-ins that will help you mould your sound.

Unison mic preamp technology is another feature and UA states that this alone “gives musicians the tone, touch and feel of the world’s most sought-after tube and transformer-based mic preamps and guitar amplifiers.”

Native Instruments Launches Sounds

Native Instruments has launched Sounds, a new content subscription service giving you access to an incredible database of loops and samples. The new service will give users access to Native Instrument expansion packs, as well as unique content from Looploft, MVP Loops, Symphonic Distribution, and a collection of established artists such as Jamie Lidell and Hank Shocklee. At this moment in time, users in the UK are invited to test the service for free using the Beta version. American users are being offered the full paid subscription service at an introductory price of $9.99 per month.
